My Opinions

I started reading Arshad's blog and it was really interesting his history and the way he lived in the U.S. I was impressed about the 911 event and how people react to this event. It's so immature how people start saying nick names to other people without knowing that they are hurting their feelings.
In Paulette's blog I learned about his heritage her ancestors were from different parts like Spain. I learned something that i did not know about the Japanese  the people, they  practiced a wide range of religion; they were not limited to only one practice.
In Carlo's blog I learned that the jews past through many difficulties because no one want them in their countries except America and Dutch. Is so interesting how people from Spain immigrate to Puerto Rico and form this race. I read his comment about the video and I'm agreed with him, is a good happy medium since we cannot just let in any criminal, but we cannot lock the country up.
I find it interesting the heritage of Mykaella because i  know her long time ago I never though that she was half part from Guatemala.  It was interesting how his father lived and traveled to the United States.

My Culture's Immigrant heritage

According to the history of Puerto Rico are descendants of amixture of: Spanish, African and  Tainos. The Spanish people came to Puerto Rico and took control of the land, took the gold and made him believe the Tainos who were gods. In my family there have been no illegals immigrants but if I had relatives who have gone tothe United States to seek a better life. These individuals have hadto work for very little money as if it were illegal for survival and livelihood. With the passing of the years an able to find better jobsand now they are treated as Americans. They had to learn English so fast to gain the acceptance of people.

For me they are an example and I am very proud that they could succeed in spite of all difficulties. This shows me we can never give up and we must always fight for what we want and what is best for us.

Description:

Some lady in Connecticut owed a chimpanzee (chimp) which weighed over 200 pounds and allowed to live in the owners home as a human would. A friend came to visit, and the beast (the chimp) went on a rampage and tore the face off the visitor. The owner called the police who when arrived shot the beast (the chimp). This happened about the same time the Stimulus Package was making its way through Congress.

The New York Post, owned by Rupert Murdoch (who also owns FOX News) published an editorial cartoon illustrating two policemen who shot the chimp dead, with a caption Theyll have to find someone else to write the net Stimulus Bill.

This caused the race baiters in the United States of America (USA) to accuse The New York Post, Fox News, and Rupert Murdoch of racism accusing them of comparing President Obama to the monkey in the cartoon. When in fact that editorial cartoon had nothing to do with racism or President Obama. Because the Stimulus Package WAS NOT written by President Obama. It was orchestrated by Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi from San Francisco. Mrs. Pelosi is of Italian heritage, so if one wanted to equate that cartoon with racism then it could have been racist towards those Americans who enjoy an Italian heritage. True historically in America racist have compared blacks to monkeys. Also the same insults have been lobbed at Americans with an Italian heritage.

In the early part of the 20th century when there was a massive migration from Italy to the United States, many Italian immigrants became organ grinders and roamed the streets playing the music from this box soliciting donations. Traditionally these organ grinders would have a monkey attached to the organ via a leash. This caused many to refer to Italians as monkeys or seeing both Italians and monkeys as being seen as one or together.

The Rev Al Sharpton is accusing The New York Post as racist towards black Americans, when the editorial cartoon clearly was not. This is being done to bring down The New York Post, FOX News, and Rupert Murdoch, all of whom are conservative. This is being fostered by the left (socialist, communist) to complete their take over. In order to achieve total victory they must eliminate all opposition, which is why Al Sharpton and the gang hijacked the racist issue of the cartoon from Italian Americans and transposed it to President Obama. The left will continue to try to eliminate conservative thought while trying to silence conservative talk radio. Folks, these liberals are a hideous bunch.

Reflection:
It's amazing how people are so racist today, as they can out of something so small as this event something big related to racism. I do not very surprised that they have these problems in society because it has long been going on and it is difficult to changepeople or their way of thinking but we can all help to treat everyoneequally and not making comparisons with animals or anything elsethat may affect the self esteem of anyone.

I'm Kamil Bartoli I go to America because the economic situation in Italy is not the best. I'm traveling on a boat for 2 weeks which is divided into three classes, as I have not got much money and the fare is $ 30 I had to buy the third class. I'm sleeping with my luggage because there was not enough space on the deck, wash clothes in salt water and grabbed my skin allergies due to salt. The atmosphere on board is not the best, the food we give is soup or stew

I'm finally in the U.S. and It's not what I was expecting. America was not supposed to be the land of opportunity in the "streets were paved with gold? That was my question since I arrived at the port. This first day in U.S. I had to find a warm place to sleep, so cold tonight and here I am writing at a street cornerthis was not a very good day but tomorrow I have to go out to work to succeed

Bad times I have lived these past few months but I survived, now I have a place to live. I found a job selling fruit for several months in a market. I am currently living without electricity and little beat of food to eat, sometimes even without food. The little money I make working for me  is not much but it's better than earning nothing.  They treat me like I'm worthless and I have to put up with it because I have to earn some money to bring my children to Italy for the United States with me.

I have saved enough money to send my kids to the U.S. and they are with me now. It's more hard to survived with 3 more people in my house but I'm so happy to have them here with me. One of my kids is sick and i don't have money for the medicines, i don't know what to do. I hope does't get worse until I have money for the medicines.

Italian immigrants in the U.S

The Italian immigrants were important in the US but not the most important part because millions of people of other countries like Argentina and Brasil were migrating to the US too. In 1850 less than 4,000 Italians were reported in the US and four years later the population increase to 44,000.
Their work in Italy had more to do with agriculture but in the US became mostly urban. They work in jobs like shoe shinning, rag picking, sewer cleaning, and dangerous jobs others didn't want. Italians lived in groups according to their place of origin.
The Sicilians lived in New Orleans, the Neapolitans and Calabrians in Minnesota, and mostly northern Italians in California. They lived in filthy conditions but that disappeared  with the arrival of new generations of Italians. In the 19th and 20th the Italians became fishermen, shoemaker etc.
Learn about the history of these immigrants did not affect my point of view because I still do not understand why any immigrant has to go through such bad condition and do not live all the same no matter where we come and we do.

Italian 'rag-pickers' with their pickings, in their 'homes'.
